Our team

Our team of vets and nurses have trained hard to be the best in our fields, and we continue to maintain and expand our knowledge and skills at every opportunity.

Dr Jenny Warland – Head Veterinarian

I have a special interest in surgery, and also love getting to know both clients and their beautiful pets. Animals have always brought me so much love and joy, so I feel very blessed to be able to spend my life caring for them.

Dr Joyce Lee – Veterinarian

I’m relatively new to Dr Paws but have fitted in really well with the team here. I do see dogs and cats here however I have a keen interest in exotics. I love to cater to the needs of all pets including lizards, turtles, ferrets, birds and even snakes!

Eleanor Foley – Practice Manager

I have a keen interest in some of the more weird and wonderful animals that come into our clinic as I have owned exotics in the past. I’m looking forward to what the future holds with me here at the clinic and getting to know more of the Newcastle area along with the amazing locals and all their lovely pets.

Robyn Richardson – Nurse Manager

I have been working in the veterinary industry for over 20 years and couldn’t imagine working in any other field. I have always had a passion for animal care, meeting and helping owners with their beloved pets.

Emelie Pollard – Veterinary Nurse

I enjoy all aspects of nursing but I have a particular interest in hospital and treatment nursing, where I can spend the time comforting our sick and injured animals.

Georgia Sexton – Veterinary Nurse

I have been a nurse in the Newcastle and Maitland area for 9 years. My special interests include orthopaedics, dentistry and behaviour. I love being able to be there for animals because they have always been there for me

Samantha Hedges – Veterinary Nurse

I love working at Dr Paws and enjoy meeting and caring for all of the animals that come into the practice. I like to make each one feel safe and comfortable on their visit.

Virginia Evans – Receptionist

I came into the veterinary industry in 2006 after a long career in the police force.
I have always loved animals and had completed a research paper re human/pet relationships as part of my social welfare degree. This increased my interest.
In 2007 I was awarded a TAFE medal in veterinary nursing, however I had no intention of actually working in the field at the time.
