Our Team

It goes without saying that we love animals, but we really do take pride in giving the best possible care and attention to you and your pet!

Meet our friendly and professional team:

Dr Lara Thompson BVSc, BAnimScMgt

I'm a veterinarian at the clinic and graduated from Veterinary Science at The University of Melbourne in 2013. Prior to that, I graduated from Animal Science & Management with Dean's Honours in 2009, in which I completed a thesis on animal behaviour.

Before working here at Dr Paws Lane Cove, I worked on the NSW South Coast where I was able to gain great exposure to emergency medicine and complex surgeries. I then moved back to Sydney to work in a clinic where I was lucky enough to be trained in keyhole surgery and other advanced treatments, such as K-laser therapy for arthritis and wound healing.

I have a strong interest in all kinds of surgery as well as behavioural medicine and training, but mostly I enjoy the satisfaction from helping an animal get through any type of illness or injury.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing water polo, travelling and finding somewhere new to eat each weekend. I have a one-eyed, epileptic Miniature Schnauzer called Floyd and a fluffy ginger cat called Hugh.

Elissa Cox- Veterinary Nurse

I joined us at the beginning of 2010 after working in the thoroughbred breeding industry for many years. I have a Diploma in Equine breeding, a Certificate II in Animal Studies and a Certificate III in Business Administration. I grew up with numerous dogs, fish and the odd duck and enjoys working with animals.

Nicole Minahan - Veterinary Nurse

I started my nursing career back in 2006 In a small animal practice in the western suburbs. From there I studied for 4 years to become a qualified Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse.

I have a keen interest in managing my patients with endocrine diseases.
On my weekends off I enjoy going to dog friendly cafes and restaurants with my 7 year old beagle Ringo.
