Pet Grooming

Keep your best friend looking their best by taking them to the groomer regularly.

How often should my pet be groomed?

Different breeds of pets have different recommendations regarding how often they should be clipped, what style of clip is used and how often they should be bathed. Depending on how long your pet’s hair is, they may require weekly, fortnightly or monthly grooming. If your pet has a skin condition, your vet may recommend more frequent washing with a special shampoo.

Preparing for your grooming visit

It is a good idea to make sure your pet is up to date with their vaccinations,  including kennel cough for dogs, before they go for their grooming visit.

If your pet needs to remain at the groomer for a few hours, bring a blanket or a toy from home to help them feel comfortable and safe in the cage while they are waiting for you to pick them up.

If it is your pet's’ first visit to the groomer, it may be a helpful to book them in for a simple, quick procedure first so they can get used to the groomer before they have to stay for a longer period of time.

Groomers often provide additional services in addition
to bathing and clipping. These may include:

• nail trimming
• anal gland expression
• removal of tear staining around the eyes
• ear cleaning
