Dr Kate Norman

I graduated from Melbourne University with honours in 2009 and initially helped my father who is also a vet and owns a mixed practice in Alexandra (North East Victoria). In 2010 I moved to the beautiful Yarra Valley and worked at the Wandin Vet clinic for 5 years, then I was off to The Veterinary Surgery in Yarrambat for the following few years to gain more experience in Equine Medicine/Surgery.

I have also worked as a locum Veterinarian all around Australia; from Victorian clinics to Outback NSW and even Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. Since graduating I have been fortunate enough to gain a large amount of experience in many aspects of mixed practice, it has been a huge advantage having so many vets in the family, my sister also has her own Equine Clinic near Benalla.

I started off working as a locum Veterinarian at Ovens & Kiewa Veterinary Hospital in 2016 and moved to the area after falling in love with the region. I currently work at our Dr Paws clinic in Wangaratta as well as our other clinic in Myrtleford.

The north east region is a fantastic area to live as I enjoy so many of the local sports and activities- motorbike riding, snowboarding, wakeboarding, horse riding, fishing and many more.

I live with my partner and our animals, two cats “Grace and Wendy”, two dogs “Gary and Zeak”, two turtles “Patrick” and “Doris” as well as having a thoroughbred who also keeps me busy.

I am passionate about all aspects of mixed practice and enjoy the large animal work with all the challenges this provides as well as the small animal surgery and medicine component at our clinics.
