🐍 SNAKE SEASON 🐍

As we have come into warmer weather, snakes are now out and about! Snake bites are an emergency and should be treated as soon as possible, so it is important to take careful precautions to avoid snake bites from occurring, as well as being familiar with the signs of a snake bite!

Signs to watch for :
- collapsing
- trembling
- breathing difficulties
- excessive panting
- drooling
- any change to or different sized pupils
- vomiting
- red or pale gums
- lethargy and weakness

Ways to avoid snakes bites from occurring :
- keep pets indoors when unable to be supervised, even in backyards
- keep pets on leash when out for walks to closely supervise, and ideally keeping them on a shorter leash
- walk on paths and avoid longer grasses, bushes, trees or logs, rocks, and any other areas snakes could be hiding

⚠️ Heat warning for your pets ⚠️

As we are coming into warmer weather, please remember to be mindful of our furbabies! Keep your pets indoors with access to plenty of water and shade. Please avoid walking in the afternoons as the ground can be too hot for your animals` paws and as the temperature rises, our pets can also develop heatstroke.

Watch out for the signs of heatstroke :
- extreme panting or difficulty breathing
- drooling
- restlessness or agitation
- red gums
- vomiting
- diahorrea
- rapid heart rate
- collapse
- seizures

⚠️  Medication Requests ⚠️

As the holiday period is approaching, we are experiencing a few delays for our order deliveries.

If your pet is currently on medications, please be mindful on when the medication is due to run out and try to give as much notice as possible to order more in. If you are also heading away over the holiday period, please ensure your pet has enough of their medications to last until your return.

Reminder that we do recommend getting medication requests in a week prior to running out of medications.
