Meet Mars! 👨‍🚀

This handsome boy came in recently for desexing and a gastropexy procedure.

A gastropexy is a surgical procedure that permanently attaches the stomach to the inner abdominal wall. This is done primarily in large-breed and deep-chested dogs, as they are more prone to GDV.

GDV is a life-threatening emergency where the stomach fills with gas and rotates on itself. It is also known as bloat or a twisted stomach.

A gastropexy can be done at any time but we commonly suggest doing it at desexing if your animal is a suitable candidate.

If this seems something you think your animal might need or you have further questions, we encourage booking an appointment with one of our experienced vets to further discuss.

It’s not everyday you get a crocodile 🐊 in at your workplace, even for us who work with animals!

Tracey from Roaming Reptiles Victoria was nice enough to let us take a look at these babies and nurse Lucille even got a little up close and personal 😍

While this little guy is only 2 years old right now, he will grow up to 7 metres long!

⚠️ Surgery Case ⚠️

Beautiful 4 month old Milla came into the clinic for a nurse triage because she was vomiting, not pooing and not eating. Her energy level was low and she definitely wasn’t feeling her regular energetic self. 🤒

After a very quick check over, Nurse Victoria made the clever discovery of dental floss under her tongue. With owner’s consent we quickly went into surgery to retrieve the foreign object from her intestines.

Everything went well and Milla has recovered great, the team is very pleased! 🐈‍⬛🧡
