Dr Karen Habib – Veterinarian 

Hello there! I’m Karen, delighted to meet you. In 2023, I proudly graduated from vet school from the University of Melbourne. My journey in veterinary care began back in 2013 as a high school placement student at a small animal clinic in Toronto, Canada. It was there that I discovered my passion for this field, a passion I nurtured throughout high school and my undergraduate studies as a veterinary nurse.

Borned and raised in Malaysia, I made the move to Melbourne in 2012 to pursue my dream of becoming a veterinarian. Graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2020, I have since worked with all animals big and small. Having dabbled in equine medicine for three years and working alongside specialist equine surgeons from around the world, I am now very excited to have the opportunity to expand my field of practice into small animal medicine.

I’m one of the originals at Dr Paws Anakie Rd as we have now been open for just over 10 years. It’s a fabulous place to work. I have a menagerie of animals at home on my acres: border Collies, whippets, cats, chooks, ducks, peacocks, guinea pigs, goats & of course my beautiful horses.

In total I have been nursing for approx 20 years and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I have particular interest in anaesthetics and surgical nursing, and enjoy doing courses and training regularly to update my skills.

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to work with animals. I have always loved animals and seem to form a special connection with them. I am super excited to be learning about animals and how to care for them. I can’t wait to continue growing in this industry.

I grew up with horses, cats, and dogs, and have always had a passion for caring for animals.In my spare time I enjoy hiking and camping in nature, taking and developing film photos, and aerial yoga.

After growing up on a farm and spending six months volunteering at GAWS I realised that I wanted to be working with animals, and made the change from Hospitality. In the future I hope to be able to do more volunteer work in both Australia and overseas.

In 2018 I completed my Certificate III in Animal Studies, which drove me to realise I wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse. If I’m not in the clinic you’ll find me with my goofy British Bulldog Bonti on some sort of adventure.

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to animals and it has always been a dream of mine to work with them. I have a keen interest in dog behaviour and I also work as a dog trainer at Jimmy’s Dog Training.

Lucille – Veterinary Nurse, Cert IV

From a young age I knew the animal industry was the work place for me. Since completing my vet nursing certificate in 2022, I’ve only continued to further my knowledge in animal health and behaviour and now run Puppy Pre-School. I love spending my free time with my two beautiful Cockalier dogs, Douglas and Audrey. In the future I aim to work with rescue groups more and expand my nursing into large animals.

Hi, i’m Victoria. I started the transition from Hospitality to the Animal industry in 2020, From growing up on a small farm just out of Geelong I have always had a special place in my heart for animals of all kinds, with a weakness for Jack Russells in particular.

I love all aspects of nursing, especially seeing my hospital patients go home happy & healthy. Alongside nursing I am studying zookeeping, volunteer at Mt Rothwell biodiversity centre, and spend time with my furbabies – An iggy called Herb, a cat, Bean & two chooks.

I recently finished my Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. I’ve always had a passion for working with animals, as I grew up with a range from Guinea Pigs to horses and cattle. I have two rescue pets, a Border Collie named Richard and a cat named Matilda. In the future I would love to work with large animals and further my knowledge on animal behaviour.

Hello my name’s Johanna and I’m currently employed as a part time trainee whilst I’m studying my Cert IV in Veterinary nursing. I started my placement within the clinic at the start of the year and am lucky enough to have become employed and work long alongside this great team. I love learning all about nursing our furry patients and further growing my passion for animals.
